Double pointed needles are a type of needles used to knit in the round. They have pointy ends on both sides and come in various sizes. They can be a little difficult to knit with at first. Once you get the hang of managing multiple needles at once, you will need to work on your tension especially when moving to the next needle in order to avoid "ladders".
