Make bobble is used when you need to make a raised multi-stitch design. This can be achieved with knitting a portion of your work back and forth a few times before moving on with the row/round. Patterns will usually indicate how big they want the bobble to be. It can be a little tricky. If you know how to crochet, I highly recommend crocheting your bobbles because it is faster and looks much tidier.
